share some wisdom

So this is going to be a whole lota random randomness.  Seriously there is no rhyme or rhythm to what I'm about to talk about but who gives a hoot right?! So I had to document some serious business. Here are some facts about us, life, what I have discovered, learned.  Advice and last but not least.... A little giveaway!
Why do a giveaway?! Well because I am a little needy and would like to bring more people to my blog so I can make more friends and learn more about all of you.  So here we go in no particular order or organized system...

- Did you know overstock.com and amazon.com both sell most if not all of our everyday use products?! For great deals! My new favorite find-- make up.  I try to stay away from name brand things found in Sephora but I sure love them. And most things (eye shadow) stays on longer the more expensive they get.  So I was over the moon when I realized I can get some of my most favorite products for CHEAP! So maybe not everything is on sale and cheaper but they have pretty much everything. It just makes me happy to find a way to save a buck. AND the biggest reason ill be saving doing it that way- my eyes wont wonder to other non-essential things that end up in my basket.

- If you have a smart phone you should try this app that I found... its call FOODUCATE... I am just starting to use it (you know for our diet we are about to start) but you scan the barcode of your food item and it gives you information on it.  So I just scanned my Chobani Greek Yogurt in it and it came back with the following info...
Grade:  A-
Cal. per serving: 140
Like this: 98% of people
Alternative choices that would be better for you:
         - They give you 5 and one of them was Breyers Lowfat Yogurt, Red Raspberry, All Natural.

- If your clothes ever get that smell like you left them in the washer to long (which I do ALL the time) you can just run them through the wash again with about a cup of baking soda and the smell is GONE!

- If you are a runner, you probably already know this but if you are just starting out and want to start on this path. You should know your shoes should be at least a full size bigger than what you normally wear! I had no idea. I went to get my feet looked at to get myself a good pair of running shoes and they gave me a 9.5! I usually wear a 7.5 or 8! But because your feet sweat and move around they need room in there. (no wonder my toes would always cramp and fall asleep when I would run before)

- You should really try this. I learned it from the all mighty -  OPRAH - You should take time out of your day. EVERYDAY to sit in absolute silence.  No music, no running water, no TV, no talking, no nothing. If you add just 10-15 minutes of this to your everyday, I guarantee it will change your life. It will refresh you in a way you have never experienced before. It was a little weird at first for me but now I HAVE to have that. When I don't, I can see the effects the next day.

- Document your life. Every aspect of it. I promise you will actually see some amazing things when you do that.  I am starting this project. Ill keep you all posted... But I am going around and documenting my life with pictures. Everything from laundry, dishes, the dirtiness of my car, my morning routine, my un-made bed, the husband when he hasn't shaved his face in a while... The behind the scenes. I did this once before. LONG ago. Before I even got married. Before I even graduated high school. and its so fun to look back and see what my life consisted of then... Hi dirty room, 50 pairs of shoes, mervyns jeans, childhood stuffed animals, my favorite lotion, boyfriend, boyfriend, boyfrieeennnd, my 2 part time jobs, school. Its pretty hilarious but I love it.

- You should buy one of those things you hook on your purse that holds little bottles of hand sanitizer. I not only use that to keep my hands free from 99.9% of germs but if there is ever a moment I feel I could use a little freshen up, I rub that stuff on my arms and just lightly around my clothes and stuff. I know it sounds weird but it gives you a really clean/good smelling feeling!

- Ryan and I like to pretend we are adults but in reality we are not. Sometimes we like to eat Mac n Cheese, pizza pockets, string cheese and a glass of kool-aide while watching arthur. Seriously. Children are running loose in our house. Then Ryan farts on me and laughs while I cry and call my mom to tattle on him.

- When you are in an argument with your spouse, smile at them and say "You are so Hot".... Then sit there in silence. Seriously. Ends the argument. Ends the tension. You forget what the heck just happened. You both laugh and smile. No one wins. (okay so maybe you do a little but that's a secret)

- I'm sure I'm the last one on earth to discover Zappos.com but if you are like me and behind you should check it out.  I bought a pair of jeans from them. (free shipping) I tried them on and they were to big. So I went to return them. Well I totally forget everything and this was no exception. BUT luckily... You have a full YEAR- yes 365 days to return your purchase for a full refund. So after 3 months of that box sitting in my car, I finally dropped it off at the post office to get it sent back (again with free shipping). Whoohoo. Very excited.

Well I guess that's enough for now. Just wanted to share my wisdom.
And for what you are all waiting for... The giveaway.

and so it is...

Sometimes you just have "those" days... Those days where you just don't want to think positive, you don't want to count your blessings, you refuse to change your attitude.
So that was me.
Instead of writing on here. For the world to see. For some of those innocent people who were caught in my bad day. I chose to write in a different place. A private book only I know exists.
weird.
To write my feelings down in a place only I can see. I'm so open, so public. I do that because I know others relate. I know even if you don't feel the exact same you can understand these feelings. I do that so I can go back and read how I sorted out my emotions.  Weird to have actually written it down. I was writing so fast and with such emotion it really looks like a page of scribble. You can barely read what I wrote. But it was necessary because it was even more unreasonable, horrible, shocking, how dare you even think that... kind of stuff! really!
So today. I guess I'm a bit better. It took everything out of me yesterday so now I'm sleepy.
I have now come back with a little different perspective.
I have taken a breath and I am ready to start writing without the horribleness that was me yesterday.

*side note, it can really be refreshing to get all your thoughts and feelings on paper and name names, say bad words and write some not very appropriate things when its just for yourself and no one else. I think ill be doing that more.*

Onto the real post. My post about the wonder mint of our life.

A whole lot of studying math is all I have to say. Only 1 more week of the semester!!!
I have a week break before summer semester starts and ill be living up that week to its fullest!
However, next semester will give me more time at home and more time doing things other than homework so ill be back to more of my domesticated self, ie: baking seven layer cakes, choreographing a future so you think you can dance performance,  writing novels, pressing all of my husbands clothes each morning sending him off to work full of eggs, bacon and grits with his paper bag lunch in tow,  just to name a few...
No bits on the house. Seriously. Please pray for it to sell.
We are having a HUGE yard sale on May 7th. Please come. Bring everyone you know. We need to sell everything. Its going to a good cause. Someday ill share what its benefiting ;)
Ryan and I are going on a diet. blah. I'm sure it will last less than 24 hours but we will try.
I have been doing more crafts (part of my--- JUST DO--- project)
I am getting a new hair straightener.. I'm sure you could give a whole-lota poo about that but I'm so excited since my cheetah print straighter decided to die a miserable death- in my hair.
My latest obsession... don't throw up.... seaweed! I have bought it by the bag and eating it like potato chips. Ryan wont kiss me for days after. (kinda part of the diet right?)
Well on our way to Kenzie's Live, Laugh, Breathe Event!!! So many change of plans but thankfully its all still falling into place. Concert in the park- July 22- BE THERE.
We are painting our stairs this weekend. gag- I hate painting- but maybe that's what will get this place sold
Ryan is supper busy at work. Long days. Poor boy only sleeps when he gets home. I haven't been home much (preparing for finals) so I haven't been able to coddle the poor boy.
So ready for sun. I'm done with snow and rain.
My white skin needs some color.
I cant wait for camping, boating, hiking, pool parties, patio seating, picnics... outside...

and that is all. PEACE.

Easter Hunt 2011

Happy Easter Makenzie Rye
Decorated everything all up

All the kiddos came and we had our 2nd Easter Egg hunt with Kenzie. This year we had over 300 eggs.
Seriously the lawn was covered in eggs!

They were all very excited to get out there and grab as much candy and money as they could.
There was 1 egg with $5 in it!

okay so maybe 1 mini wasn't so very happy...

ready... set... go...
It lasted at least 15-20 minutes!

They had a great time searching through every last egg they found right there. Traded candy, toys, and Tyler was the $5 winner!  We rounded up the balloons and sent them off with a big Happy Easter!

This is the second Easter we have now lived through without Makenzie. Last year I had a really hard time. This year. It was off and on. I think the pressures of everything else in our everyday has more to do with it than it just being Easter. The stresses of expanding our family. The wanting the waiting the wondering. The choices and mistakes. The questions and the planning.
It was suppose to be easy... We have a child. Love her. Raise her. Celebrate Easter with her.
Life is not that way. I have come to accept that, I have come to even find good in it. But those yucky days still come far to often. I love watching our nieces and nephews run around but it just reminds me how much they are growing and how Makenzie isn't growing with them.
I don't want her forgotten. I don't want them to not remember her. I don't want them to miss out experiencing life with her to.
I have to say. One of the best things ever-- is when all those little kids get ready to send balloons to their cousin.  There are no whines or crys to keep theirs. They are all so excited to get the very best one so they can make sure she gets the best one from them. They are all so happy and squeal when they are floating up to heaven. The happiness I see in them during those moments takes so much of the pain away.
Happy Easter Kenzie. Give Jesus tons of hugs and kisses and Thank him for all he did to make it possible for me to be with you again. Make sure you are all having a wonderful celebration and hosting the biggest Easter hunt ever known to exist.
I love you to pieces. More than all the eggs in the world!
